It was a bit of unexpected good news yesterday when Texans coach Bill O’Brien addressed the “possibility” of offensive lineman David Quessenberry returning to the field this season after a year of cancer treatments.
But to hear Quessenberry talk about it, it’s a not a matter of if but when.
“I will be back out there,” Quessenberry said, via Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle. “That will be a special day. I’ve been through a lot. That’s something that’s been a vision of mine throughout this whole process.”
After a year spent in treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he’s close enough to his playing weight of 307 pounds that he can see his goal, and he’s thankful for the organization’s support.
