Haason Reddick's prolonged contract holdout reportedly turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the New York Jets.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the money that the Jets saved from Reddick's holdout and fines went into paying star wide receiver Davante Adams (h/t Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com). New York took on $11.6 million of Adams' $16.89 million base salary when the team added him in an Oct. 15 trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Reddick racked up $4.5 million in fines before agreeing to end his holdout on Oct. 20, per Rapoport.
