Darren Sharper enters final guilty pleas in four-state plea agreement

Former NFL safety Darren Sharper pleaded guilty to three rapes in New Orleans on Monday in the final step of a long process of trying to convict Sharper for a string of sexual assaults that played out across four states.

Sharper has already entered guilty pleas in California, Nevada and Arizona in cases that all saw Sharper accused of using so-called date-rape drugs to sedate his victims before sexually assaulting them. Sharper ultimately admitted to nine assaults and has agreed to cooperate in the prosecution of two co-defendants in New Orleans who face charges of aggravated rape.

“The case is not over with,” District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
