Danieal Manning announces his retirement

Safety Danieal Manning played in all 16 games for the Texans last season and he says that those will be the last 16 games he plays in the NFL.

Manning announced his retirement during an appearance on Sports Radio 610 on Tuesday. Manning became an unrestricted free agent in March, but there was never much public word about interest in his services around the NFL.

Manning spent nine years in the NFL and entered the league as a second-round pick of the Bears in 2006. He spent five years with Chicago, most of them as a starter while also seeing time as a kickoff returner, before moving on to Houston in 2011.
