For some reason, Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson called three running plays for Andy Dalton on the opening drive of Saturday night’s preseason game vs. the Bears.
After the third, a quarterback sneak, Dalton left the game with what the team called a neck injury. He was examined on the sideline by trainers and then remained on the sideline but didn’t return to the game. The Bengals don’t need Dalton tonight and will hope he was just shaken up.
A.J. McCarron took over at quarterback with most of the rest of the first-team offense.
