Although it is unlikely Cowboys second-round linebacker Jaylon Smith will see a snap this season as he continues his recovery from an serious knee injury sustained in last year's Fiesta Bowl, vice president Stephen Jones told local sports radio on Monday Smith will be activated from the non-football injury list.
Smith, 21, has yet to practice, and it's been considered since May a longshot that he would play at all during his rookie season. Smith's knee injury also included nerve damage, and the team has been understandably cautious in rehab.
"That doesn't mean anything with change with Jaylon in terms of his routine," Jones said via the Dallas Morning News.
