Cowboys keep Tony Romo on active roster entering Week 1

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones says the team will keep Tony Romo on the active roster while he recovers from a back injury.

In an interview with Dallas’s 105.3 The Fan, Jones explained his line of thinking as far as rostering quarterbacks. Rookie Dak Prescott and newly signed Mark Sanchez are the team’s two healthy quarterbacks.

“We don't have anybody valuable enough to take up that lost spot to give us the opportunity to see how [Romo] does,” Jones said. “There's just not enough value there realistically to bring someone else in. That's the deciding factor.
