Commanders, Daron Payne Agree to $90M Extension

NFL Offseason - The Washington Commanders and defensive tackle Daron Payne have agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal makes Payne the second-highest paid defensive tackle of all time, behind only Aaron Donald. Payne was originally tagged by the Commanders on February 28.

Payne posted career highs across the board in 2022. His 20 tackles for loss ranked fourth among defensive tackles, while his 11.5 sacks were third among all defensive tackles and tied for 12th among all players.
