Broncos running back C.J. Anderson is telling people close to him that he's out for the season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday.
Anderson sustained an injury to his knee during Monday night's game against the Houston Texans. Though Anderson suffered the injury in the first quarter of Monday's game, he actually returned to action and finished with 107 rushing yards and a touchdown in Denver's 27–9 victory.
Denver has leaned on the run so far this season, and with second–year quarterback Trevor Siemian under center, the Broncos will likely continue running the ball. Anderson is the team's leading rusher with 437 yards and four touchdowns so far this season, but Devontae Booker has also contributed, totaling 244 yards and one touchdown on 51 carries this year.
