All season, debate has continued over which of these backs is the better option for Denver.
Prior to the start of this NFL season, CJ Anderson was the consensus No. 1 back in Denver. However, as the season began, he couldn’t seem to get it going, averaging fewer than four yards per carry in all of Denver’s first six games. Ronnie Hillman seemed to be emerging as more of the go-to guy in the Mile High, and CJ Anderson was looking to be the fantasy bust of the year. As the year dragged on, both of them seemed to be up-and-down, but many thought that Hillman’s speed advantage ultimately gave him a leg up.
