The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday they placed running back Christine Michael on the injured reserve list and signed running back Troymaine Pope.
Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star said of Michael's injury, "Saw this coming the way he went down yesterday. Didn't look good."
Pope appeared in four games last year for the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks and tallied 12 carries for 44 yards, but Michael to the injured reserve was the notable roster move.
Indianapolis signed him this offseason in an effort to bolster a rushing attack that finished a mere 23rd in the league in yards per game in 2016.
