Chris Johnson expects interest to pick up when camps start

The Jets didn’t pick up their option on running back Chris Johnson’s contract for the 2015 season, leaving Johnson as an unrestricted free agent when the new league year got underway in March.

Unfortunately for Johnson, he was on the market with a bullet wound in his shoulder after he was wounded in a drive-by shooting. He’s resumed training after being treated for the injury, but interest in his services never materialized while teams were filling out their 90-man rosters in the spring. Johnson said this week that he expects that to change once training camps start opening up in a bit more than a week.
