The Raiders opted not to tender cornerback Chimdi Chekwa as a restricted free agent earlier this offseason, which led him to sign with the Patriots.
Things didn’t work out for a long stay in New England, however. Chekwa was released earlier this week to end what has turned out to be a brief vacation from the Raiders.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports, via agent Drew Rosenhaus, that Chekwa has re-signed with Oakland. The 2011 fourth-round pick saw limited snaps on defense last season and has played 32 games for the Raiders over the last four years.
