Chiefs settle for field goals, trail Patriots 14-6 at halftime

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Each team scored twice in the first half but the New England Patriots got touchdowns while the Kansas City Chiefs kicked field goals and trailed 14-6 at halftime.

The Chiefs bogged down twice at the end of long drives. They answered a New England touchdown drive on the game’s first possession with a 34-yard field goal from Cairo Santos.

Santos kicked his second field goal from 32 yards with 12 seconds left in the half. The Chiefs had a first and goal from the New England 9 but a delay of game penalty plus three incomplete passes by Alex Smith forced the field goal try.
