Chiefs long snapper's father fatally shot at Oklahoma City airport

Michael Winchester, the father of Kansas City Chiefs long snapper James Winchester, was fatally shot in a parking area at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City on Tuesday afternoon.

A disgruntled former employee was waiting for Michael Winchester, who worked for Southwest Airlines, to exit the airport before killing him and then turning the gun on himself. Winchester was 52 years old.

The airport was on lockdown after the shooting.

The Chiefs issued the following statement:
