Bears DL Akiem Hicks avoided a suspension for shoving an official in last week’s 48-10 victory over the Buccaneers, but he has been assessed a fine of $33,425 according to multiple reports.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported the fine first.
Referee Jerome Boger told a pool reporter last Sunday that Hicks was ejected from the game for pushing Mike Carr, the down judge who was trying to separate Hicks and Buccaneers OG Ali Marpet with 2:17 left in the second quarter.
Hicks did not immediately leave the bench area at Soldier Field and when instructed to do so, threw his jersey and pads into the crowd he walked toward the tunnel leading to the locker room.
