Steve Smith’s career was remarkable, and certainly complicated.
I’m not sure when it happened, and I have no idea why it happened. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense and I’m stalling trying to figure out a way to articulate how it happened. At some point over the last handful of seasons, Steve Smith Sr. became one of my favorite players in the league and easily the one I enjoyed following the most. For many people, all of this makes sense. Smith plays hard, plays well, and is a great quote off the field. Many people did not have to watch Steve Smith’s career through this scope
