The Los Angeles Chargers have requested to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for their open head coaching position, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The 39-year-old Callahan has been the Bengals' offensive coordinator since 2019, when he joined then first-year head coach Zac Taylor's staff. He's coached in the NFL since 2010, when he joined the Denver Broncos as a coaching assistant.
Callahan spent six seasons in Denver, capped by winning Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos in 2015 as an offensive assistant. He then left for Detroit to become the Lions' quarterbacks coach for the 2016 and 2017 campaigns.
