Chargers announce multi-year extension with Corey Liuget

Recent reports out of San Diego have indicated that the Chargers and defensive end Corey Liuget were closing in on an extension and they were proven right on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers announced that Liuget has signed a multi-year extension with the team. There’s no word about how many years the deal runs or how much money Liuget stands to make, although the five-year extension worth up to $60 million signed by fellow 2011 first-rounder Cameron Jordan in New Orleans could provide a hint about the neighborhood.

“I want to thank the Spanos family, [General Manager] Tom Telesco and all my coaches for helping to make this extension possible,” Liuget said in a statement released by the team.
