The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that quarterback Carson Wentz has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
The 28-year-old has completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 25 touchdowns, six interceptions and seven yards per attempt. He's in his first season with the Colts after playing five years with the Philadelphia Eagles, who traded Wentz to Indianapolis last March.
Wentz has trudged through the 2021 preseason and regular season despite injuries. He had successful surgery on Aug. 3 to repair an issue with his foot. ESPN's Mike Wells gave some background on the ailment.
