Mac Jones looked pretty bad during New England Patriots/Philadelphia Eagles joint practices on Monday. Cam Newton looked worse.
Jones threw some crisp passes in early drills, but everything fell apart in the full-squad mini-scrimmage that ended Monday's session. Jones stepped up in the pocket but badly underthrew one receiver on a deep pass; backup Eagles safety Andrew Adams could not haul in the interception. Jones later overcompensated by sailing a deep ball 5 yards over Gunner Olszewski's head, leading to another near-interception. Then he put too much mustard on a routine shallow cross to a running back, ricocheting the football off of two Eagles defenders 5 yards behind his target.
