Cowboys first-round cornerback Byron Jones had season-ending left shoulder surgery in 2014, his final season at Connecticut. On Sunday, Jones injured the same shoulder again.
Via Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Jones collided with cornerback Morris Claiborne during seven-on-seven drills. It’s not believed to be serious, but it will keep him out of two days of joint practices with the Rams, which start Monday. He’s also not likely to play in the second preseason game, against the 49ers.
“That sure was a concern because that was the shoulder he had fixed [that ended his season early at UConn last year],” owner Jerry Jones said, via Davison.
