CHICAGO — Tremaine Edmunds had just been told a pretty remarkable fact about himself. He’d just received veteran’s treatment following the Buffalo Bills’ final preseason game against the Chicago Bears, not taking a single snap in that exhibition game. The anticipation is that the rookie will be starting on the Bills' defense in Week 1.
Did he realize he soon would become the youngest middle linebacker to start his team’s opening game as a rookie in the Super Bowl era?
“Well,” Edmunds said, flashing a smile and a shrug. “I do now.”
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker will be 20 years and 130 days old — he can legally buy a beer next May — when he takes the field for the Bills’ first defensive series in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
