Browns' Kessler leaves game with chest, rib injuries

The Cleveland Browns could be turning to yet another quarterback on this young season.

Rookie starter Cody Kessler went to the locker room early in the second quarter of Sunday's game after a disastrous play where he threw the ball backward and was planted into the ground by Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower. The ball went out the side of the end zone for a safety to give New England a 16-7 lead.

Kessler was quickly announced as questionable to return to the game with chest and rib injuries. Charlie Whitehurst, signed just a few weeks ago, split snaps with wide receiver Terrelle Pryor on Cleveland's first drive after Kessler's injury.
