Brian Hoyer's best performance in nearly a year was undone by a terrible decision late in Houston's 27-20 loss to the Colts. It's hard to imagine, however, Hoyer returning to the bench next week.
Hoyer replaced Ryan Mallett in the second quarter Thursday due to unusual circumstances. Mallett took himself out of the game after being hit in the midsection, and then attempted to get back on the field a few plays later. Texans coach Bill O'Brien didn't let him back on the field, and Hoyer led the Texans on a scoring drive.
