Brandon Weeden is the Cowboys’ most improved player

The Cowboys hope backup quarterback Brandon Weeden will spend this season holding a clipboard while Tony Romo plays. But if Romo gets hurt, the Cowboys feel good about what Weeden can do.

In fact, quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson says that no one on the team has improved more this offseason than Weeden.

“I think he’s probably the most improved player,” Wilson said, via ESPN. “He just has a great understanding of the concepts, of the protections, calling the plays, all those things. He’s made a big jump this year.”

Told what Wilson said about him, Weeden said he attributes it to hard work this offseason.
