Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who last appeared in an NFL regular-season game with the San Francisco 49ers in 2014, announced his retirement Thursday.

Lloyd, 34, was a fourth-round draft pick by the Niners in the 2003 draft. He finished his career with 399 receptions for 5,989 yards and 36 touchdowns. His best season came in 2010, when he snagged 77 passes for 1,448 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Denver Broncos and was named to the Pro Bowl and the Associated Press All-NFL second team.
