After a brutal week of training camp in which the Jets lost their starting quarterback to a locker-room fight, things didn’t get much better in the preseason debut.
The Lions dominated the Jets on Thursday night, winning 23-3 in a game that wasn’t close whether it was the starters or the backups on the field. But Jets coach Todd Bowles says the mistakes he saw from his team were typical of a first preseason game.
“That looked like a first preseason game looks,” Bowles said. “If we get killed like that in the third preseason game, I will be concerned, but I’m not right now.
