After getting injured in the Indianapolis Colts' final preseason game, running back Dan "Boom" Herron now finds himself out of a job. The Colts announced Sunday that they waived the 26-year-old. Should the player clear waivers, he'll go on injured reserve.
Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star didn't downplay the impact Herron's absence will have on the team:
Big #Colts news: Team has waived/injured Boom Herron. Huge loss for the running back room.

Many penciled Herron in as the Colts' backup running back behind Frank Gore.
