Offensive lineman Wayne Hunter had been out of the NFL since being released in March 2013 before the Bills signed him earlier this month, but his return to the league turned out to be a brief one.
The NFL’s daily transactions report brings word that the Bills have released Hunter after just a few weeks with the team.
Hunter signed with the Bills after working out for the team near the end of their offseason program, but the quick decision to part ways with him suggests the Bills have either grown more comfortable with the other depth options on their roster or decided that Hunter’s long layoff made him unlikely to help the team this season.
