Monday marked the commencement of the trial that contests the decision of Saints owner Tom Benson to change his will to bequeath New Orleans football and basketball franchises to his wife, Gayle Benson. The legal challenge to Benson’s competence to change his will is unfolding behind closed doors. But the participants will be coming and going through those doors.
On Monday, the 87-year-old who has owned the Saints for 30 years emerged from court and declared to reporters, “I can’t talk about nothing. I just feel good.”
Via Katherine Sayre of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Benson also said as he moved past the reporters, “Y’all can report that I’m still walking.
