Bengals take a chance on Josh Shaw, who lied about injury

AP

The Bengals have given chances to guys with questions in their pasts.

And they just took a guy who lied about the ankle injury which derailed his season and may have ruined his reputation.

The Bengals used the 120th pick on Southern Cal cornerback Josh Shaw.

He’s the guy who made up a story about trying to save a drowning youngster, saying he injured both ankles jumping off a balcony to get to a pool. In fact, he jumped off the balcony after an argument with his girlfriend led a neighbor to call the cops.

He’s not a bad player, as he was slated to become a captain at USC before the high ankle sprain kept him out of all but the last three games.
