The Bengals have decided to part ways with quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
The team announced Pryor’s release on Thursday after they wrapped up their offseason program. The move leaves the Bengals with Andy Dalton, A.J. McCarron and Josh Johnson at quarterback as they head toward training camp.
It also leaves Pryor’s hopes of a lasting NFL career in a particularly dim spot. He had been the team’s third quarterback earlier in the offseason, but Johnson jumped him on the depth chart at minicamp to foreshadow his departure from the Cincinnati roster.
