CINCINNATI -- Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton left Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a thumb injury in the first quarter and will not return.
After initially being declared questionable to return, he was downgraded to out moments later. The starting signal-caller was hurt at some point during the Bengals' opening drive, one that ended with him throwing an interception into the hands of Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt.
On the play, Dalton was attempting to get the ball to running back Giovani Bernard on a screen, but Tuitt moved right by Bernard, guessed right, and picked off the pass.
