Ben Roethlisberger On Steelers Drafting Mason Rudolph: 'I Was Surprised'

Ben Roethlisberger said that he was "surprised" when the Steelers selected Mason Rudolph in the NFL draft after telling his team he wanted to play for another three to five years.

The quarterback revealed this on Friday as a guest on the "Cook and Poni Show" on Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan.

"I told them right away, so it wasn't like it was a big surprise," Roethlisberger said. "I wanted them to know so that they wouldn't have to worry about drafting a quarterback...You want to be fair to the team and give them ample time to figure out your replacement or whatever.
