The next era of Carolina Panthers football is already handed a setback. Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield is expected to miss two to six weeks with a high ankle sprain, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Mayfield suffered the injury during the first half of Carolina's game against the San Francisco 49ers; while he did play most of the second half, Mayfield arrived at the podium in a walking boot after the game.
"A little painful right now,'' said Mayfield during his postgame presser. "I'm not real sure exactly what it is. We'll examine that tomorrow and find out.
