Anthony Davis Latest 49er To Retire Early

So, who or what got into San Francisco's locker room and told everyone to walk away from the game? Offensive tackle Anthony Davis, a first-round draft pick in 2010, has become the latest 49er to retire this offseason, joining Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, and Chris Borland. At 35, Smith's retirement was expected, but the departures of Willis (30), Borland (24), and now Davis (25) caught everyone in Santa Clara off guard. At least Willis and Borland let the team know their intentions before the draft.

Davis started every game in each of his first four seasons before missing nine games last season with concussion, knee, and hamstring injuries.
