Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was arrested in South Beach early Saturday morning after firing a gun into the ground twice following an altercation.
Tim Elfrink of the Miami New Times reports the Independence Day incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. The arrest, which came after Quarless allegedly attempted to flee the scene, was confirmed by Miami Beach PD spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez.
An incident report with further details on the situation is expected later Saturday. He was officially charged with discharging a firearm in public, according to the Miami New Times.
