“Extreme DUI” subjects McNabb to longer sentence

On Tuesday, Gantt passed along some details about former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb’s second DUI arrest in Arizona. At the time, those details did not include the blood-alcohol concentration measured by police.

Via multiple reports, the numbers are now in — and they measure at more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

The 0.171 percent reading constitutes “extreme DUI” in Arizona. Coupled with McNabb’s prior DUI in Arizona, he now faces a mandatory minimum sentence not of 90 days but 120 days.

In the aftermath of the June 28 arrest, McNabb has taken a leave of absence from his weekday show on NBC Sports Radio, and FOX Sports has suspended McNabb indefinitely.
