49ers Make Uniform Change for Cardinals Game Ahead of Possible Record Temperatures

The San Francisco 49ers will wear alternate throwback uniforms that feature white pants to prepare for projected record-breaking temperatures during the team's Week 5 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium.

Temperatures are expected to be about 95 degrees at kickoff on Sunday and will rise towards 100 degrees throughout the afternoon, per The Athletic. The game is projected to be the hottest in the history of Levi's Stadium, surpassing the previous high of 90 degrees during a preseason contest in Aug. 2017.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the team attempted to switch to all-white uniforms in order to combat the heat, but the request was denied by the league.
