For teams seeking out experienced offensive lineman, they should look no further than Dion Dawkins, who took over the starting left tackle job at Temple during his freshman season. While injury would cut his maiden season short, the New Jersey native started on P.J. Walker’s blindside for the next three years, earning second team All-American Conference honors as a junior and first team All-Conference his senior season.
Since we don’t have many statistics to evaluate offensive line play, Dawkins’ experience and availability are most impressive. The offensive statistics for Temple from the past few seasons don’t pop out, mostly falling in the middle of the country in yards and points per game, but much of that is due to the deliberate pace of play that the Owls utilize.
