Training camps are nearly here for the NFL, with the start dates for many teams just over a week away. Potential trades, as well as a few free agents who have yet to sign, are the main talking points during the final few weeks of the offseason. Check out the all latest NFL news and rumors below.
Could Eagles Trade Eric Rowe?
The Eagles spent a second round pick on Utah DB Eric Rowe last year, but could trade him this offseason, according to NJ.com. Rowe was part of the Chip Kelly regime that the Eagles are so desperately trying to distance themselves from. Rowe showed some promise last year, but NJ.com reports seventh round pick Jalen Mills had more time with the first team during minicamps.
Shaq Lawson Injury Update
ESPN's Louis Riddick was on WGR 550 Wednesday morning and dropped not-so-promising update on the health of Bills' first round pick Shaq Lawson.
"Shaq Lawson had a shoulder injury that at one point you said didn't think was going to need surgery, and now it does need surgery, and from what I hear could be anywhere from – he could miss half the season to maybe even the entire season," Riddick said.
However, Lawson quickly responded to Riddick's claim. In a since-deleted tweet, Lawson said you can't believe everything you hear, tagging Riddick in the tweet. Lawson originally disputed Adam Schefter's report that he would miss 4 to 6 months. That timeline seems to be accurate so far, and it would cost Lawson anywhere from a few games to half the season.
Cowboys Likely To Cut McClain?
With his 10-game suspension for violating the NFL substance abuse policy looming, the Dallas Morning News expects Roland McClain to be cut by the Cowboys. The delay in the decision comes because the Cowboys are unsure of what the cap hit will be of cutting McClain. Once the financials are figured out, the Cowboys will likely move on from the troubled linebacker. They've already signed Justin Durant to take his place.
