In a recent report from the Washington Post, the NFL may soon change its policy in regard to protests during the national anthem. According to the report, the NFL may soon allow the teams themselves to decide whether players are required to stand or not. As of now, players are not required, but strongly encouraged to stand.

The report also suggested the NFL could implement a blanket piece of legislation - requiring players to stand or allowing players to do whatever they please during the anthem.
This will be a topic of discussion during the owners meetings in Atlanta. So far, Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick have filed grievance cases against the NFL alleging the 32 owners worked to keep them out of the league. More cases could arise.
