Week 3 of the NFL season finished up last night with the Dallas Cowboys' 28-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football, but it was a week marked by controversy. Almost every team in the league took part in protesting the national anthem following President Donald Trump's comments criticizing the sport for not reprimanding players who sat or kneeled during the anthem. The Carolina Panthers are still discussing that issue, and we have the latest on that and more in today's NFL Rumors Roundup:
Panthers "frustrated" with owner Jerry Richardson's national anthem restrictions
The Panthers were one of the few teams that did not engage in a national anthem protest or demonstration this weekend, though defensive end Julius Peppers did take a knee. Team owner Jerry Richardson issued the following statement on Monday in which he condemned those who were protesting the flag.

However, that is not sitting too well with his players as they are frustrated with his comments, according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is scheduled to meet Tuesday with a group of players upset that his strongly held beliefs do not allow them to join the growing protests around the NFL.
Those players are frustrated by restrictions implemented by Richardson and concerned about possible repercussions should they speak out on social issues, the Observer has learned.
Carolina's next game is Sunday against the New England Patriots in Foxborough.
Andrew Luck may return to practice this week
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has not played or practiced this season as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, but there is a chance he could return to the practice field sometime this week, according to the team's website.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said Monday that Luck, who has been working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery, has already been ruled out of this Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, but he isn’t yet dismissing the possibility that Luck could start practicing at some point during the week.
“He’s progressing well, getting stronger,” said Pagano, who cautioned that the team doctors still need to clear Luck before he can make a return to the practice field.
Luck is reportedly targeting to return in Week 6 for the Colts game against the Tennessee Titans. Jacoby Brissett, who Indianapolis acquired in a preseason trade with the Patriots, is starting in Luck's absence.
Luck passed for 4,240 yards with 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 15 games last season.
