The 2015 NFL Scouting Combine is now over, and several prospects really hurt their stock with their lackluster performances over the weekend. Here are the three biggest losers from the combine:
WR Sammie Coates
Coates came into the combine with a reputation as a freakish athlete, but he failed to put up the eye-popping numbers many expected. His 40-yard dash time was only the 12th-fastest among wide receivers, and his inconsistent hands were exposed during drills.
During media availability earlier in the week, he actively avoided questions about his drops saying only that he lacked concentration, a response scouts didn't like. Given that and his questionable route running, he might fall to one of the later rounds in the draft.
OL Ereck Flowers
Flowers is projected to be a first-round pick, but he may fall to the second round after his combine performance. He put up the most bench reps of anyone at the combine, yet his lack of speed and mobility have teams questioning if he can be effective protecting the quarterback against the athleticism of NFL pass rushers:
QB Shane Carden
This year's quarterback class is not deep, but Carden's performance at the combine may cause him to go undrafted. He's popular because of his intangibles and production at the college level, yet he failed to stand out at the Senior Bowl. The physical skills he showed at the combine weren't impressive, and many are thinking his success is due to ECU's wide-open, fast-paced spread offensive system.
