The Dallas Cowboys' coaching staff is apparently following the lead of owner Jerry Jones.
Jones had said earlier this week that the Cowboys "aren't running from" Richard Sherman, and the coaches are reportedly relaying that message throughout the locker room. From NFL.com:
"The word from Cowboys coaches to their players: That Richard Sherman is overrated, that the rest of the secondary props him up and makes him play better than he actually is, that Sherman is protected by some of the best safeties in the game -- including, of course, Earl Thomas," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said. "The Cowboys coaches do think the Seattle defense is the best defense in the NFL. But as far as Sherman, they feel like they can attack."
Sherman has been a constant target for opponents due to his love for trash talking, and has been in the news a couple times this year for similar instances.
San Diego wide receiver Keenan Allen spoke out criticizing Sherman after their matchup earlier this year, and Washington wideout Pierre Garcon got into it with Sherman last week.
The Cowboys and Sherman will be able to settle this on the field today, with the sides squaring off in Seattle at 4:25 ET.
