Gerald McCoy is the best NFL Free Agent available in the NFL offseason. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut the 9-year veteran instead of paying him $13 MM in 2019. The six-time pro bowler has been one of the Bucs lone bright spots on defense over the past decade, but both sides are calling it a “mutual agreement to part ways”, which probably means that McCoy was not willing to take a paycut. The Bucs turned around and signed veteran DT Ndamukong Suh to a one-year contract the very next day.
There are a handful of teams that could be landing spots for Gerald McCoy. The Oakland Raiders had the worst pass rush in 2018, totaling only 16 sacks on the season. The Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly interested in signing Gerald McCoy, but it would have to be a team-friendly deal. McCoy has also been linked to the Dallas Cowboys, but it is reported that the Cowboys are not interested in signing the Oklahoma City native. The Browns, Colts & Patriots are a few of the teams that could be potential Gerald McCoy destinations. Where could Gerald McCoy play in 2019?
