The San Francisco 49ers finished the season on a five-game winning streak thanks to new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The New England Patriots traded Garoppolo to the 49ers for a second-round pick on October 30th. Since the trade, the 49ers are 5-1 and have won every game Garoppolo has started. In the five wins, Garoppolo completed 67 percent of his passes (118 of 176) for 1,542 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions to post a 94 passer rating.

Garoppolo's four-year rookie contract has ended and is a free agent. The general manager of the 49ers John Lynch wants Garoppolo to be a 49er.
"We want Jimmy to be a Niner for a long, long time," Lynch told reporters Tuesday. "That process is going to take place here and we're eager to get that done, to have the opportunity."
Garoppolo is a free agent and these are the five teams that could sign him:
5.) Denver Broncos
The Broncos quarterback situation was a complete dumpster fire this season. The combination of Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, and Paxton Lynch combined to throw 19 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Finding a quarterback with one of the league's best defense makes the Broncos one of the best teams in the NFL.
4.) New England Patriots
The Patriots traded him away but there is a chance he could return. The Patriots wanted to sign Garoppolo to a new deal as a security blanket for Tom Brady, according to Pro Football Talk. Brady started showing his age at the end of the season, throwing five of his season total eight interceptions in December.
3.) New York Jets
The Jets are in need of a quarterback (nothing new) and if Garoppolo is available they would be crazy to not make an attempt after him. They are projected to have just under $75 million of cap space before making any roster moves that could significantly increase their available room. With the extra cap space, Garoppolo playing in New York is a possibility. How great would it be to see him stick it to the Patriots twice a year?
2.) Cleveland Browns
The Browns have the first and fourth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. If the team believes they can get Garoppolo then they might trade down to continue to save up money. The Browns are already on track to have to an NFL-best $112 million of room, assuming the 2018 salary cap is set at $178.1 million. Money talks and if it's loud enough Garoppolo may go to Cleveland.
1.) San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers would be crazy to let Garoppolo enter free agency, but things happen. The 49ers want him for their future and will do whatever it takes to make sure he is calling hike in San Francisco next season. The 49ers need to worry about the Jets and Browns due to their cap space. The 49ers can and likely will franchise tag him for $22 million a year.
