Star players in the NFL often have sky-high expectations. If Aaron Rodgers throws for only 230 yards, it looks like a "down" game. But this list isn't for players who slightly underachieve. This is for those who been massive disappointments and completely ate the bones. It just so happens that this week's players come from two positions. With that in mind, here are Five NFL Stars Who Were Total Disappointments In Week 13.
Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers
Rivers was going up against a strong pass defense in the Broncos, but that doesn't excuse his poor play. Rivers completed 18 of 35 passes for 202 yards and a pick. That interception was a pick-six, which gave Denver everything it needed in a 17-3 win.
Jay Cutler, QB, Bears
The 49ers' defense has played well, but Cutler was still a disappointment. He posted a stat line similar to that of Rivers, completing 18 of 31 passes for 202 yards and a pick. He nearly delivered a win, but the Bears fell in OT.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings
Peterson had a tough matchup against a really good Seattle defense, but his efforts failed to reach even the lowest of expectations. He had just 18 yards on eight carries and picked up six yards on four catches. Nothing went right for the Vikings and Peterson's struggles didn't help.
Eddie Lacy, RB, Packers
Lacy played on Thursday, but he's not getting pass. He had just five carries for four yards. He missed curfew the night before the game and his lack of playing time was a direct result of that. He's lucky that Aaron Rodgers and Richard Rodgers bailed the Packers out.
DeMarco Murray, RB, Eagles
The Eagles beat the Patriots, but Murray wasn't much help. He had just eight carries for 24 yards, third on the team in both categories. He was pretty much benched in favor of Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner. Murray was a total disappointment this week.
