Every NFL team starts the season with dreams of winning the Super Bowl, but now, teams that are in the playoffs have a real chance of bringing home a title. Well, not every playoff team. Here are three playoff teams that have absolutely no chance of winning the Super Bowl this year.
Washington Redskins
The Skins surprisingly emerged from the lackluster NFC East, and will host a playoff game on wild card weekend as a result. They have not beaten a team with a winning record yet this season, which is bad enough in itself, but they're expected to face the Seattle Seahawks in the wild card round. If they win that, they'll get the Carolina Panthers, who beat the Redskins by 28 points earlier this season. I don't see a scenario in which Washington survives those two games.
Houston Texans
Houston won the AFC South for the third time in five years, surprising beating out a Colts team that was a Super Bowl favorite at the beginning of the year. Their defense, which ranks third in the NFL, has carried them to this point, but the offense is in bad shape. They've been playing without star running back Arian Foster for most of the season, but now they're down to third-string QB Brandon Weeden - who was a mid-season pickup - after injuries to Brian Hoyer and T.J. Yates. Those quarterback questions will keep them from winning the ultimate prize.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have been one of the league's biggest breakout teams this year, but they've struggled against the best competition they've faced. Despite their 10-5 record, Minnesota is 1-4 against other playoff teams, losing those four games by an average of 13.5 points. I expect those struggles to continue in the playoffs.
